ABSTRACT:

The Internet of Things (IoT) is revolutionizing biomedical manufacturing. Drug and medical device production facilities that use sensors, are connected to the Internet, and use software to collect, process, and manage manufacturing data are more efficient, productive, and smarter than their non-connected counterparts. IoT helps companies continuously collect data about processes, and with sensors on the assembly line and sensors in products, managers can instantly find out the status of production. They are able to share information and data with coworkers in other departments and with suppliers and customers. Biomedical manufacturing that combines software and hardware enables better decision-making, asset utilization, and optimization, workforce efficiency, risk management, and smarter expenditures.
