Michael Magyar brings 14 years of research and development experience to the Gore Innovation Center in Silicon Valley, where he facilitates collaboration between Gore and its innovation partners through ideation and prototyping. A Materials Science and Engineering graduate of Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, Michael’s previous work at Gore has focused on new material and product development, including leading the technical team responsible for the recently launched GORE-TEX® INFINIUM™ THERMIUM™ footwear. With extensive experience translating product needs into material requirements, Michael relies on both physical and virtual prototyping to solve problems with advanced materials. The Silicon Valley Business Journal recently recognized his contributions to the industry, including him in its 40 under 40 class of 2018.
As technical scout at the Gore Innovation Center, Michael extends his experience with Gore materials and capabilities to identify opportunities for collaboration, helping Gore’s partners drive ideas forward, build products and use Gore materials to solve performance challenges. His aptitude in technology development and insight into Gore’s capabilities create an environment that helps bring ideas to fruition.
