Arhythmia Detection via a Wireless ECG Device

There is currently no product on the market which can non-intrusively monitor heart health and automatically alert an emergency response team. The aim is to create a passive monitoring device that will serve as a safety net for patients diagnosed with heart conditions. This device will have three contacts to retrieve and analyze an electrocardiogram (ECG) signal that automatically sends a distress signal to an emergency response team if arrhythmia is detected. It will be attached to the chest via elastic adhesive and utilize a rechargeable battery. It is expected to see consistent and accurate responses to unstable trends in the ECG, which manifest as an SOS. This will prove that there is an affordable way to provide a sense of security to patients afflicted with heart conditions. Once prototyping has been completed, testing will begin to perfect the device’s accuracy before applying for an IRB.
