Arthritis is an inflammation that occurs at the joints in a person’s body, weakening and restricting the movement. In 2015, 54.4 million people have been diagnosed with arthritis and are projected to be more than 63 million people by 2020. To aid with this stiffness, the medical field currently has braces to keep the joint in place and improve with the physical function of the body part. The issue with these solutions is that it costs anywhere from $100 to $1000 per joint, which is not cost-efficient for those who suffer arthritis at multiple joints. The purpose of my project is to come up with concept designs that are cheaper with high durability while covering multiple joints at once. These concepts help with the slow progression of strength and the strengthening after healing.
