Dr. Melinda Simon joined SJSU in fall 2017 as an Assistant Professor in the Biomedical Engineering Department. She holds a Ph.D. from the UC Irvine in Biomedical Engineering, and B.S. and M.S. degrees from the University of Cincinnati and UC Davis in Chemical Engineering and Biomedical Engineering, respectively. Following her graduate work, Dr. Simon completed postdoctoral studies at the Stanford University School of Medicine and Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory. Her research at SJSU is focused on the use of microfluidics for cell culture and tissue engineering.
