David V. Sanker, Ph.D.

David earned his Ph.D. in Mathematics from UC Berkeley in 1989, then taught Mathematics and Computer Science at Holy Names College in Oakland for three years.  David then went into a second career in software development, developing software, designing database architecture, and supporting the released software.  After twelve years in his second career, David returned to UC Berkeley for his law degree.  David has been with Morgan Lewis since 2005, starting as a summer associate during law school.  David was promoted to the partnership in 2017.  At Morgan Lewis, David has practiced both patent litigation and patent portfolio building.  Inventions that utilize Artificial Intelligence have become an increasing proportion of David’s work to build intellectual property protection.  In 2018, David was recognized as one of the top AI attorneys in California, and David continues to give presentations on topics related to Artificial Intelligence.
