Jillynne Quinn, Ph.D.
Jillynne is from Livermore, California. Jillynne graduated with a BS in Biology from UC Santa Cruz in 2010 and earned a Ph.D. in Biophysics from Stanford University in 2017. Jillynne’s graduate work included: (i) using image processing to develop a model to characterize bacterial cell shape of Sinorhizobium meliloti, a nitrogen-fixing symbiont of legume plants; (ii) investigating the regulation of the S. meliloti cell envelope; and (iii) designing bacterial mutants to explore the mechanism of bacterial differentiation from free-living to symbiotic morphology. From 2018 to 2020, Jillynne worked at Morgan Lewis as a Patent Agent, focusing on securing patent rights for inventions in bioinformatics and software user interfaces. Jillynne is now working at a startup company to build and manage their patent portfolio.
