Roger is a highly respected and accomplished veteran of every aspect of medical device business creation, from conceptualization to successful commercialization including IPOs. He has participated in this process both as an entrepreneur and as a strategic venture capital investor. His many notable achievements include successful new product introductions, launching of novel drug delivery platforms, and applications of new technologies to healthcare. He was on the founding team of VISX and the founding President of Advanced Interventional Systems, both of which completed successful IPOs, achieving combined market valuations of $1.6B. After serving as CEO of Intelliwire, he rejoined Johnson & Johnson where he spent nine years as Vice President at J&J Development Corporation where he led investments across the spectrum of start-ups from early to late stage.
Most recently Roger formed Healthcare Associates, LLC, providing consulting services to a wide range of venture capital focused activities. He is a graduate of San Jose State University with a BA in Biology. He completed the Pharmaceutical Marketing Certificate program at the Tuck School of Business (Dartmouth College) and executive programs at the Syracuse University and Harvard Business School.
