Abstract: VitaScan - rapid and quantitative fingerstick iron deficiency testing
2 billion people suffer from anemia, and this number is rising. While iron deficiency is the most common cause of anemia, there is no easy way to confirm this without laboratory testing, which makes patient follow-up challenging for physicians, leading to poor treatment outcomes and poor patient adherence. VitaScan's quantitative lateral flow technology has been used to develop the only fully quantitative point-of-care test for iron status directly from a fingerstick of blood.
